About

Kirsten FedewaKirsten Fedewa & Associates L.L.C. is a boutique communications and public relations consultancy founded by its principal, Kirsten A. Fedewa, who has experience at the highest levels of government, political, media and entertainment circles.

Ms. Fedewa successfully utilizes her experience and national network of contacts to assist the firm’s private-sector and nonprofit clients, including such  as Children’s Hospice International, Wells of Life, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and the American Medical Association PAC.

Recent clients include Habitat for Humanity Washington, D.C. and the Committee of 100 – a nonprofit organization of prominent Chinese-Americans founded by I.M. Pei and Yo-Yo Ma working to promote U.S.-China relations. Kirsten Fedewa & Associates, L.L.C. provided assistance with overall strategic planning, message development, and media management. The firm also successfully secured participation by newly-confirmed U.S. Ambassador to China, Terry Branstad, and U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson to deliver the keynote speech.

The firm’s client list includes world renowned tenor Anthony Kearns, for whom she has secured several multi-million dollar celebrity appearances on television (PBS, America Salutes You, The Huckabee Show, etc.) and some of the world’s most prominent stages. High-profile engagements secured by the firm include the Pre-Mass Concert for Pope Francis I in Philadelphia in September 2015 — and concerts for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, bipartisan Governors, members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, Ambassadors, and recently, President Barack Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, and Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny.

One of the firm’s high-profile clients is former Presidential Candidate Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR), for whom she developed a national media strategy. Fedewa helped Gov. Huckabee win the 2008 Iowa Republican caucuses and seven other primaries using a shoe-string media budget to “beat the best PR money can buy.” Fedewa began her work on strategic media for Huckabee as far back as 2004, personally handling all of the campaign’s media bookings, including interviews with actor Chuck Norris. The value of the earned media in the Huckabee campaign is estimated in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Gov. Huckabee continued to work with Ms. Fedewa on special projects such as the February 2010 interview of First Lady Michele Obama on his Fox News Network television show, a children’s video series he co-founded called “Learn our History” and book tours.

The firm also developed publicity campaigns for other V.I.P. clients, including Michael Reagan, best-selling author and son of Pres. Ronald W. Reagan, and the recent movie blockbuster, “Act of Valor.”

Led by Kirsten Fedewa, the firm has considerable experience and expertise in events planning and promotion, including recent benefits held at Salamander Resort, Middleburg, VA; The Embassy of New Zealand, and The Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C.  Additional venues include: The Ritz Carlton, Pentagon, City, VA; Union Station, Washington D.C.; The Willard Hotel, Washington, D.C. and National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C., The Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., and others.

The firm annually produces a bipartisan military benefit to raise awareness for military veterans and veterans’ causes. Recent emcees have included CBS’ White House Senior Correspondent Major Garrett, Politico’s Daniel Lippman, and Larry Michael, 10-time Emmy award-winning “Voice of the Washington Redskins,” among others.  Media partners include The Washington Times, Washington Life Magazine, Biznow, and The Washington Examiner (2017).

Fedewa is a founding Board Member of The Steamboat Institute, a nonprofit organization created in 2009 to promote America’s founding principles.  The Institute’s first inaugural Freedom Conference was carried by C-Span and featured in The Washington Post, The Denver Post, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Her work helped create the groundwork for future successful forums and the Tony Blankley Chair for Public Policy and American Exceptionalism.

Previously she served as a press secretary in the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, at the N.R.C.C., and as the first-ever communications director for the nation’s 32 Republican governors.
